About HS Haiti Foundation
The HS Haiti Foundation is a 501c(3) organization that operates as a separate entity from the Holy Spirit Haiti Mission. The HS Haiti Foundation was established to ensure the Holy Spirit Haiti Mission will always have stable funds available to continue the work in Haiti and protect the futures of the people we help. The HS Haiti Foundation is seeking long term donations from individuals, estates, and other funding sources that share the mission of ensuring Haiti’s future. Donations from individuals go directly into the principal of the fund which can not be spent. Only interest earned may be distributed to Holy Spirit Haiti Mission.
How the Money Is Used
100% of all money goes toward projects in Haiti —the mission relies on volunteers and donors for time, talent, and treasure. It is a 501c(3).
The foundation desires to build a strong principal from which to draw for ongoing long-term support totally aside from the short-term funding of the mission.
The strong principal will be invested in The Catholic Investment Foundation of North Alabama, which has returned an average of 6% since 1997; the investment is managed by, but otherwise independent of, the Diocese of Birmingham.
